In the midst of all the Christmas Festive spirit, we would like to begin by giving a huge thank you to our volunteers who have been working incredibly hard to ensure the less privileged are also able to enjoy a festive meal!
Something else our volunteers have been working on is our Covid Crisis Response, which to date has had nearly 6,000 beneficiaries, including school children, the elderly, the disabled, homeless individuals, victims of domestic abuse and so much more.
We have made use of leftover food from form 6 other charities and food banks to minimise food wastage whilst providing the most vulnerable with winter survival packs (‘bags of blessings’) to keep them going during difficult times.
The protection of the environment has also been at the forefront of our minds, and therefore we have strived to ensure, that all donations are put to use, that the cardboard boxes we use for the donations are recyclable as well as that vegetables which have an expiry date too short to be used effectively for our survival packs and festive meals donations are provided as foods to animals instead.
With the help of our wonderful volunteers working diligently behind the scenes, our Covid Crisis Response is still making huge differences in the local community! Together, we can do so much more.
