During the Covid crisis, Moonlight Trust has supported over 6000 families in dire need with the support of local communities, hardworking volunteers and generous donors. Launched in March 2020, our Response Centre has helped to support school children, the elderly, registered disabled individuals, single moms, homeless individuals and victims of domestic abuse.
However, in light of the changing Government guidelines, our Moonlight Trust Covid Crisis response arrangements have been revised, and are now as follows:
- We will no longer offer an open-door policy for Wednesday drop-ins at Thornhill Lees Community Centre, and we will assess each referral on a case-by-case basis.
- We will be providing a reduced offer on food parcels, household items and clothing, and access to employability, resilience and confidence-building workshops offered at Moonlight Trust (limited spaces available).
Once again, Moonlight Trust would like to give a huge thank you to all those who have been involved in supporting our Covid Crisis response, including Cllr Masood Ahmed for helping us with the managing and coordinating of deliveries as well as verifying referrals, and those part of our excellent Partnership with Dewsbury South Cllrs Covid Response Group. We would also like to thank Heckmondwike Grammar Sixth Form, and our donors and funders: Phoenix, Kirklees Council, One Community Foundation, Tesco Bags of Help, and Co-Op.
To get in touch regarding food parcels please contact Cllr Masood at 07890175365
