The University also hosted the Moonlight Diversity Show, organised by graduate trainee Noushin Aslam to launch her new charity, the Moonlight Trust, set up in memory of her brother, Amar Aslam, who passed away on 25 May 2008 in a tragic incident. The show celebrated cultural diversity at Leeds Met and featured presentations, singing and dancing from around the world by performers from many ethnic and religious backgrounds, ranging from Irish singers to Arab Nasheeds (religious rhymes) and African dancers. There was also food stalls and arts and crafts from many countries. The Trust aims to provide financial aid and basic necessities to people in poverty in Third World countries, regardless of race, religion or nationality…..
