The Moonlight Trust is Proud to be awarded £18,000 from the Phoenix Fund!
Moonlight Trust is proud to announce we were successful in our application to partner with the global fund for children and receive funding from The Phoenix Fund. This initiative, made possible thanks to National Lottery players, will provide £1 million in emergency grants to Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities and will support BAME leadership across England.
For years, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic organisations have faced systemic barriers to accessing resources to carry out their vital work. Now, throughout the UK and worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic is disproportionately affecting BAME organisations and populations, deepening racial inequality and threatening their existence.
The funding has enabled us to deliver support to our communities during incredibly difficult times and will help us secure the long-term sustainability of the food bank we run which will continue to be an essential community resource for at least the next two years. With restrictions set to continue up until the point of vaccination, the economic downturn will continue and get worse, impacting BAME communities the most.
We are delighted to have received the support from Global Fund for Children & which has enabled us to sustain our charitable activities in some of the most difficult times including our front-line Covid Crisis support for some of the most vulnerable and hardest-hit communities during the pandemic. We will continue to be at the forefront of supporting those in need with a team of over 50 volunteers, community members, and local Cllrs.

The £1.4 million commitment from The National Lottery Community Fund was made possible thanks to National Lottery players and makes available £1 million in grants to Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities across England and a further £400,000 to support the development of the fund.
